Mission – The Skating Club of Huntsville

The purpose of the Skating Club of Huntsville Mission is to focus the day-to-day activities of the Skating Club of Huntsville within the framework of the “Purpose” of the club as defined below:

to encourage actively the growth of the Club.
to encourage participation in the sport of figure skating by all persons regardless of race, sex, religious creed, color, national origin or ancestry. This includes competitive and non-competitive skaters.
to actively support the development of the Club members who are active competitive USFS Figure Skaters. To implement this support by:

Holding local non-qualifying competitions.
Encouraging local competitive skaters to participate in appropriate USFS non-qualifying competitions.
Hosting qualifying USFS competitions whenever possible, specifically Regional and Sectional competitions.
Actively acknowledging, supporting, and publicizing Club competitive skaters participate in USFS sanctioned events.
Providing local exhibitions by skaters participating in Regional, Sectional, or National level USFS competitions and USFS sanctioned International competitions.

to sponsor, produce, or cooperate in the production of amateur ice carnivals and shows;
to generally do and perform such other acts as may be necessary, advisable, proper or incidental in the realization of the objectives and purposes of the organization; and
to carry out the general policies of the U.S. Figure Skating.
